Founded in 2017 by Delaney and Mimi Council, Above 8000 Creative was born from the passion to help brands and entrepreneurs stand out with creative design and photography. The founders were small business owners first. They founded and ran a successful bake shop for over ten years. Before they were business owners, they both worked and met at Roxy/Quiksilver and have over 10 years experience in the action sports industry between them.

 

Delaney is a graphic designer with a degree from FIDM. And Mimi is a photographer and marketing manager who attended the school of hard knocks. Together, they have built a boutique agency that has worked on national campaigns and small businesses alike.

Delaney grew up on Maui and moved to Los Angeles to attend college where he graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from FIDM. He worked as a production artist at Quiksilver fine tuning every single piece of artwork before it was printed on any tee shirt, which drove the bulk of sales for the company. Outside of the action sports industry, he has worked on graphics for ski resorts, restaurants, videos, books, print, and digital media. He specializes in brand identity, website design, and telling a story through visual arts.

Mimi grew up in Chicago, and attended boarding school in Vermont. While getting the college experience in her teens, she decided against college and instead founded the first organic bakery in the country. Running a successful brick and mortar shop included leading the marketing efforts on top of operations. She is also an author of three cookbooks, Cookies for Everyone, The Mountain Baker, and Effortless Eggless Baking. She specializes in restaurant consulting as well as photography and content creation within the food and lifestyle niches.
